PRIMARY SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL LINKS

The Grange-over-Sands Primary School is CofE-controlled.  It has 153 full-time pupils currently on roll, and a further 17 part-time pupils in the nursery. Most of the children come from within the surrounds of the town. Close links exist with the Parish Church, and the Team curate visits on a regular basis either to conduct assemblies or to work in class on curriculum matters connected with the school’s delivery of R.E. Annual services like the Leavers’ Service and Harvest Festival are held at St Paul’s, in rotation with other churches in Grange, namely the URC and the Methodist. The Catholic Church is too small to accommodate all the pupils, staff and parents, but the RC Priest is a current member of the school’s governing body. The Headteacher is a worshipping member of St Paul’s Church; he sits on the PCC and attends all the training conferences organised by the Diocese for headteachers of Church schools. One member of the PCC serves as a foundation governor on the school’s board.

Secondary and tertiary education is available at Barrow, Cartmel, Kendal, Lancaster, Milnthorpe (Dallam) and Ulverston. The PCC nominates one member to the governing body of the Cartmel Priory Secondary School.
