News from Kluut up the Rias

Saying goodbye to Ria Ares, yesterday we headed for Malpica, further west along the coast, but rolly seas resulted in an unscheduled stop in La Coruna.

Thank goodness Dave retrieved that bucket.

Making the most of this opportunity we climbed the Torre de Hercules, the oldest working lighthouse built during Roman times and were amazed at the panoramic views from its top, 219 steps above the cliff tops.

We also found an internet shop and with the little Spanish we have learned and a lot of sign language, we have managed to get a message to you all. I am sorry it has taken so long but we are having a fine time and really wish you could be here to see it with us. The coast is very rugged and resembles the south coast of England in many ways. The small sandy beaches that are hidden away in quiet alcoves are ideal for those of you with a boat!! But if it’s the walking you prefer there is plenty of that to do as well from walking along the tops of cliffs, through wood lands and trees bearing oranges, lemons, figs, cherries or the most picturesque villages with brightly painted houses and steps down to the waterfront.

Must go now and try to relocate the internet shop.

Love you lots  and miss you too.
